2D or 3D CAD Conversion to a 3D Print

LGM can accept almost any CAD format and generate a 3D print for you.

  1. Send us your CAD file(s) and what detail you would like to see in the model, scale, and deadline.
  2. We will reply with a quote and or questions to clarify the final product.
  3. Once the model is drawn up you will receive a 3D PDF to proof your model.
  4. Most models will ship in under two weeks.
  5. You can pay online.

For residential examples of detail you can see below and extrapolate to your particular needs, typical scale is 1"=16' (16th).

Massing Only - The Basic Model is a structural massing model integrated with the surrounding terrain. It comes with a standard bamboo base, laser-engraved with your logo and project information.

Detailed Model - The Detailed Model is a structural massing model with more detail including windows, doors, railings, and beam ends, and integrated with the surrounding terrain. It comes with a standard bamboo base, laser-engraved with your logo and project information.

À La Carte - LGM can customize a 3D printed model to meet your needs. We offer special features and add-ons like: full color, material surface textures, trees and vegetation, building-only prints, and larger maximum model sizes, to name just a few.

If you are sending 2D CAD - You will need to decide what scale you would like your model at, the level of detail you would like to depict and when you will need the model.  We will send you a quote and take care of the rest.

If you are sending 3D CAD - You can save money and have greater control of your model if you are already drafting in 3D.  If you already have the 3D file ready to go, send it over and we can discuss options for your model.  If you are just starting the process and want to know more about drafting with 3D printing in mind, see our blog posts for tips and best practices so that you can maximize your gain with 3D printing.
